The restitution of cultural objects is a complex law process be- cause of the special nature of the items involved in comparison with the common commercial goods: they are unique and irreplaceable. It also addresses the private international law issues arising from both litigation and alternative dispute resolu- tionproceedings.Finally,aftercriticalevaluationofthecurrentregulatoryframework regarding the restitution of cultural objects, an amendment procedure based on the involvement of the recent jurisprudence (theory and case law) is proposed.
