It presents the legislative amendments regarding border asylum procedures and the composition of the Appeal Committees following the announcement of the Statement and critically examines the use of admi- nistrative detention and mandatory geographical restrictions on the Eastern Aegean islands. The implications of establishing lower human rights standards for the Rule of Law are also examined.
