MAROUDA, Panteion University Protection and ‘Humanitarian Action” 2016-2019 -co-funded by EU EACEA /Erasmus+ Relevance of the Chair: JMC CIPROHA anchors and mainstreams teaching on EU matters in International and European legal studies, through the lense of solidar- ity in migration, and other civil protection and response to natural or man made disasters, the inter-relation between humanitarian aid by traditional humanitarian actors, partners of ECHO, and state, or even military actors, and the challenges of blurring the lines of EU principled response to crises. Courses intent to address contemporary issues and research skills related to EU civil protection and humanitarian action, employability both for the advancement of the professional careers aof students s well as their personal lives. Through the advanced seminars, JMC CIPROHA will contribute to better pedagogic, academic and media coverage of new challenges and recent developments in the field of European response to disasters and civil protection. This implies giving more emphasis in teaching, in-class and out-of-class on group work, in situ simulations to new topics, as well as focusing research activities of the project team and of the students participating to contemporary challenges of EU humanitarian action. The Project also implies an increased involvement of the Project team in the academic debate on these subjects as well as in a dialogue with media and inter- ested public and NGOs in general.
