Πρόλογος XVII Akrivoulis, whose study on the concept of solidarity will undoubtedly mark aca- demic and theoritical discussion. Lora Pappa on Metadrasi and Sari Nissi on the re- sponse of the International Committee of the Red Cross in Greece present their valuable experience as two of the most imprortant humanitarian actors of the subject. In the following section, the cooperation and solidarity under the Com- mon European Asylum and Migration System is discussed by Sofia Filipidou and Dr Vassiliki Saranti, Advisor and Expert-Counselor of the Hellenic Ministry of Foreign Affairs respectively, M.D. Marouda discusses the issue of the EU solidarity in the emergency humanitarian aid provided by DG ECHO for the first time in a member state: Dr Theofania Antoniou analyzes the content of solidarity as a common Euro- pean value, a legal obligation within and outside the EU. In the third section, Minos Mouzourakis (Senior ECRE’s AIDA Coordinator), Alexandros Konstantinou (Legal Unit of the Greek Council for Refugees), Ersi Koi (former member of the Appeal Com- mittees), Dr Eleni Koutsouraki (Postdoctoral Researcher at the European Centre of Research and Training in Human Rights and Humanitarian Action) and Maria Dimi- trakopoulou (PhD Candidate) refer to the contemporary issues under the Common European Asylum System, including “safe third countries”, the effects of the im- plementation of the EU-Turkey Statement on refugees’ rights, as well as the family reunification aspect regarding the revision of the Dublin Regulation. In the last sec- tion, Ntina Tzavara (Researcher at the European Centre of Research and Training in Human Rights and Humanitarian Action), Maria Papamina and Chara Katsigianni (Attorneys at Law in the Greek Council for Refugees) present the developments in the field of refugee protection in Greece, with special focus on minors. I would like to warmly thank the team of researchers of the Jean Monnet Chair EU Solidarity in CIPROHA, and more specifically Dr Eleni Koutsouraki post doc fellow, for her valuable help in the organization of research and events, as well as in the publication of the current book. The journey was a joy of fruitful discussions and anxiety on how to best serve our values and support people on the move in need of solidarity.
