HUMAN RIGHTS AND INTERNATIONAL PROTECTION FOR VULNERABLE ASYLUM APPLICANTS

XI Short CVs Apergis Spiros graduated from the Law School of Athens and is a lawyer registered at the Pireaus Bar Association specializing in refugee law. Since April 2019 he serves as Chair of the Greek Section of Amnesty International. He has served for more than six years as a member of the asylum appeals committees appointed by the UNHCR and the National Commission of Human Rights. He is amember of the National Com- mission for Human rights since 2006 and appointed as Chair of the Commission’s De- partment on Foreigners. Bourmpoulas Georgios studied Philosophy, Psychology and Pedagogy in the Nation- al and KapodistrianUniversity of Athens andmajored in Philosophy. He holds aMaster from the Hellenic Open University in Language Education for Refugees and Migrants. He has been teaching in Secondary Education private Institutes for the past twelve years until today. He also delivers Greek language lessons to refugees andmigrants. Gana Demetra graduated fromThe Faculty of Philology of the National and Kapodis- trian University of Athens in 2015. Her master is on Language Education for refugees and migrants via the Hellenic Open University. Her academic interests include lan- guage education, special education and critical pedagogy and she is interested for interdisciplinary research with other scientific fields such as psychology. She also has great interest and experience in voluntary action surrounding children. Kapitzeli Sofia studied Social Policy and Social Anthropology in Panteion University and she completed her master in the Hellenic Open University. Her participation in the postgraduate programme entitled as“Language Education for Refugees and Mi- grants”, offered her the opportunity to further examine issues related tomigration, in- tercultural education and human rights for refugees andmigrants. She has worked as a sociologist at the Division of Social Solidarity & Health in a local municipality. Sireti Angeliki has received her BA in Classical Philology from the University of Ioan- nina, Greece. In 2020, she was awarded her MA in Language Education for Refugees andMigrants from the Hellenic Open University. She has beenworking in refugee ed- ucation since 2017 in various organizations in Greece. Currently she is working in a refugee camp in Athens, as a non-formal educator. Venetikidou Aikaterini holds a B.Ed Degree in Primary Education and anMA on“Lan- guage Education for Migrants and Refugees”. She acquired a TEFL ( Teaching English as a Foreign Language ) Certificate in Czechia and ever since she has been working as
