Abstract:

This second volume examines the substantive Law of the European

Union from the standpoint of its Economic Constitution. Starting from the ex-

amination of the internal market and the fundamental principle of free move-

ment, the book examines the evolution of the European Union on the basis

of the «spill-over» phenomenon which has expanded tremendously the field of

European competencies. Integrated «historical» policies like the Common Agri-

cultural Policy and the EU Competition Policy are analyzed in a nutshell, as well

as policies that have been progressively asserted (transports, industry, employ-

ment, energy, Economic and Monetary Union, taxation, environment, health,

protection of consumers, Common Foreign and Security Policy, etc).
