Apart from his academic career, Professor Gortsos, a Member of the Athens
Bar Association (admitted to the Supreme Court), is since July 2000 the Secre-
tary General of the Hellenic Bank Association. In this capacity he serves,
inter
alia,
as:
• Member of the Board and the Executive Committee of the European Banking
Federation,
• Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Banking and Investment Services
Ombudsman,
• Vice-Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Hellenic Deposit and Invest-
ment Guarantee Fund, and
• Member of the Board of Directors of Greece’s automated payments clearing-
house (DIAS Interbanking Systems).
He has also served (2004-2009) as a member of the Board of Directors of the
Hellenic Capital Markets Committee.
