Abstract: During the period since the previous version, there have
been changes at the institutional, legal, accounting and tax framework,
which drastically affected the economic environment of municipalities
(local government). The reader can find in the book analyzed issues
about the application of the accounting standard of local government,
the preparation of the budget and the report, the preventive control of
municipalities with references to the relevant Code of Municipalities and
Communities and the greek applicable legislation as well as to the effect
of I.P.S.A.S. (International Accounting Standards in the Public sector) on
