Forensic Psychology and Psychiatry

Abstract: The book consists of three parts. The first part deals with questions

of forensic psychiatry. After examining the concept of guilt and its relation to

the problem of free will, it covers extensively the subjects of lack of criminal

responsibility, insanity, diminished responsibility and drunkenness. The second

part refers to questions of forensic psychology. Among its main themes are: the

methodological tools of the forensic psychologist, evaluation of confessions and

testimonies, as well as the psychology of judges and jurors. The last part deals

with the role of the expert witness (psychiatrist and psychologist) in criminal

procedures.
