The Hotel Contract

Dr. iur. Artemis Divriotis

Abstract: The book refers to the hotel contract signed between the hotelier and

the tour operator by which the tour operator “buys” by the hotelier in advance a

large number of beds sold afterwards to his own customers, the tourists. Special

reference is made to the two basic forms of the hotel contract i.e the guarantee

and the allotment. The book also refers to the laws applicable to hotel contract,

to form requirements, to its content, to its performance as well as to the breach

of the contractual obligations and to the remedies. It moreover deals with issues

of international jurisdiction of the Greek courts and of private international law.

The book attempts both to systematize the issues arising from the operation of

the hotel contract and to provide with a safe legal framework for the regulation

of the above issues.
