Shaping a universal method of interpreting juridical acts

Abstract:
The study attempts to shape a universal method of interpreting legal
acts in order to find the proper method of interpreting standard contract
terms. In a first section issues are thoroughly examined of how to find what
meaning the parties attached to their expression of will, along with issues of
the role of the principle of good faith in the interpretation of contracts. In a
second section the conclusions drawn from such general method are applied
to standard contract terms. Lastly, the study explores the special rules of Greek
Law no 2251/1994 regarding the interpretation Òf standard contract terms.
