Abstract: This is the first book written in Greek that deals with how EU competi-
tion rules are treated in arbitration. In eight chapters, this book examines the whole
scope of interplay between competition law and arbitration. In particular, the book
covers all controversial issues arising out of said interplay, such as the arbitrability
of competition law issues, the application of competition rules by arbitral tribu-
nals, the potential relations of arbitral tribunals with the European Courts and
anti-trust regulators, and the criteria applicable to the judicial review of arbitral
awards dealing with competition law issues. The perspectives of the arbitrator, the
counsel of a party to arbitration, the national judge, and the “end-user” of arbitra-
tion (companies) are all included in the text. The aim of the book is to provide
helpful guidance to practitioners, arbitrators and national judges on a matter which
is now arising ever more frequently in practice, namely the application of competi-
tion law in arbitration.
