Alexandra Varka-Adami,
Professor Emerita at the Technological
Educational Institution of Athens
Abstract:
This book contains a concise but comprehensive analysis of the concepts and
institutions of Civil Law. Its basic purpose is to assist students to approach the topics
of Civil Law in a simple, methodical but also understandable way. The introduction, in
which the concept, the division and the sources of the law are presented, is followed by
the first part of the book, which is dedicated to the General Principles of Civil Law. In
the second part the topics of Law of Obligations are presented, with focus on the modern
contractual agreements. The third part covers the topics of Property Law. In the fourth
and fifth part the Family law and the Inheritance Law respectively are demonstrated.
The making of a 4th edition of this book was necessary due to current modifications of
the legislation regarding several subchapters of Civil Law, especially modifications of the
new Code of Civil Procedure.
