Abstract:
A treatise on the legal treatment of minors as offenders and as vic-
tims. The authors discuss juvenile delinquency, sexual exploitation of children,
special treatment of juvenile offenders, re-educative and corrective measures,
custodial treatment measures, procedural matters (juvenile courts, limited ac-
cess to juvenile proceedings, etc.), supervisors of juvenile offenders, manage-
ment and prevention of juvenile delinquency, and the statistical representation
of the treatment of juvenile crime. This publication includes annexes comprising
the provisions of the Greek Criminal Code on juvenile offenders, a Report on
the Greek Ombudsman’s visit to the Youth Detention Centre of Corinth, Di-
rective 2016/800 on procedural safeguards for children who are suspects or
accused persons in criminal proceedings, a relevant legal opinion of the Euro-
pean Economic and Social Committee, and Greek Joint Ministerial Decision No.
73461/2017 on the provision of community service.
