Abstract: The object of the present book is personal data, the protection of
which covers vertically various fields of Greek legislation and is closely related
to the European regulatory framework. It is consisted of 22 studies, covering all
important issues having as a common reference the disposals of the Greek law
2472/1997. In this framework, these studies particularly cover the meaning
and the constitutional regulation of the concept of personal data, the processing
of personal data, the concept of archive of personal data, the merely personal
and household activity of processing of personal data, the concept of consent
in the legislation of processing of personal data, the right of access to public
documents in relation with the legislation on personal data, the freedom of the
press in relation with the legislation on personal data, the personal data related
to health, the processing of biometric data, etc. The book also includes a fully
detailed Index on personal data legislation and an Annex of this legislation.
