Abstract: The introductory chapter to the book refers to the transition from

Regulation 17/1962, and the notification and exemption system to Regulation

1/2003 and the ex lege exception system introduced by the latter, as regards

art. 101 (3) TFEU. The first part of the book refers to the main features of

Regulation 1/2003, to the so-called “modernisation package”, as well as to the

functioning of block exemption Regulations under the new ex lege exception

system. The second part of the book includes the article by article comments to

Regulation 1/2003, with special references to Regulation 773/2004, as it now

stands, Regulation 1049/2001 (Transparency Regulation), the respective EU-

Commission Communications and Guidelines, Directive 2014/104/EU on anti-

trust damages actions, as well as corresponding and related provisions in Greek

competition law (previously Law 703/1977 and currently Law 3959/2011).
