Gabriela Kütting
is Assistant Professor of Political Science in the
Department of Political Science and Center of Global Change and Gov-
ernance at Rutgers (Newark) University. She is currently on the execu-
tive committee of the Environmental Studies Section of the International
Studies Association. Her main publications include

Elli Louka,
is the founder of ADI (Alphabetics Development & Invest-
ment), a company devoted to environment and development. She was the
co-founder of the International Environmental Law Clinic at New York
University School of Law where she worked as a legal advisor to country
missions to the United Nations and international organizations. She has
taught international environmental law at New York University School
of Law and at Miami University School of Law. Her main publications
include
Overcoming National Barriers to International Waste Trade

Conflicting Integration: The Envi-
ronmental Law of the European Union
(2004).
Moira L. McConnell
is Professor of Law and Director of the Marine
& Environmental Law Institute, Dalhousie University, Canada. She is
currently advising the Maritime Sector of the International Labour Or-
ganization (ILO) on the development of a consolidated maritime labour
convention (2006) and was the lead legal consultant for a GEF/UNDP/
IMO project on ship source marine pollution. She is the co-editor of the
international interdisciplinary
Ocean Yearbook
. Her publications and re-
