Abstract:

This volume is a treatise on expert evidence. The author discusses the

subject-matter in three main chapters: (i) Expert evidence in general (means of

proof and free assessment of evidence, expert evidence in administrative pro-

ceedings, technical experts, etc.), (ii) Categories of expert evidence (evidence

in civil proceedings, the relationship between expert evidence and other means

of proof, documentary evidence, witness testimony, etc.) and (iii) Special types

of expert evidence (preliminary expert evidence, expert evidence pertaining to

women, psychiatric expert report, handwriting expert report, forensic expert

report, expert evidence with regard to drugs, criminology expert report, forensic

DNA analysis, personal data, etc.). The analysis is complemented with a concise

alphabetical index of terms.
